URTESTE S.A. (WSE:URT)

NY, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Urteste S.A. (Warsaw Stock Exchange: URT), a company developing innovative urine-based in vitro diagnostic technologies for the early detection of cancer, has appointed Christian Pangratz as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Company's Supervisory Board appointed Mr. Pangratz to the position effective 1 September 2026. The new CEO brings more than 25 years of experience in the life sciences industry, including developing complex, innovative international projects, building strategic partnerships, licensing technologies and executing M&A transactions. Throughout his career, he has been involved in licensing and M&A transactions with a combined net present value (NPV) of more than EUR 4.5 billion.

Christian Pangratz is an international life sciences executive with broad experience across biotechnology, specialty pharmaceuticals and innovative platform technology companies in Europe, North America and Asia. He has held CEO and other senior executive positions at venture capital-backed and publicly listed companies, leading projects from preclinical through clinical development.

“It is an honour for me to join Urteste. The Company has made significant progress in recent years and today has a unique platform for the early, non-invasive urine-based detection of cancer. Urteste’s technology has the potential to enable faster and more cost-effective diagnostics, complementing existing diagnostic solutions and potentially benefiting both patients and healthcare systems,” says Christian Pangratz, newly appointed CEO of Urteste. “Throughout more than 25 years in the life sciences sector, I have focused on translating innovation and scientific achievements into tangible assets and shareholder value. This included building strategic partnerships, negotiating global licensing agreements and leading the sale of European life sciences companies. I intend to leverage my expertise at Urteste and, together with the team, advance the Company through its next stage of growth. This will include, in particular, commercially validating the Company's technology, strengthening cooperation with industry partners and, ultimately, increasing the value we create for patients and shareholders,” adds Christian Pangratz.

Throughout his career, Christian Pangratz led the establishment of a partnership between Nektar Therapeutics and AstraZeneca valued at USD 1.5 billion – the largest licensing transaction by Nektar Therapeutics at that time – as well as the sale of Activaero to Vectura for EUR 130 million. He was also responsible for raising more than EUR 32 million in equity financing, as well as significant non-dilutive funding. As a CEO, he has been responsible for developing and implementing corporate strategies and securing financing at key growth stages and value inflection points in a company’s development.

Christian Pangratz will take up his position as CEO of Urteste on 1 September 2026. From that date, the Company's Management Board will consist of Christian Pangratz – CEO, Grzegorz Stefański and Tomasz Kostuch – Management Board Members.

“Urteste is currently at a very important stage of its development. The Panuri test has entered a multicentre clinical study in Europe, and as the study progresses, preparations for the commercialisation of our technology and discussions with potential industry partners are becoming increasingly important. This is precisely the stage at which Christian's experience in business development, licensing and transactions is particularly valuable to us. I believe that combining the scientific, clinical and technological expertise of our team with Christian's international experience will significantly strengthen Urteste's potential to achieve further milestones and translate our technology into a commercially viable solution,” says Grzegorz Stefański, CEO and co-founder of Urteste S.A.

Urteste's priority project is Panuri, a test being developed for the early detection of pancreatic cancer, one of the cancers with the poorest prognosis.
In early June, the first patient was enrolled in the European clinical study of Panuri. The primary objective of the study is to assess the diagnostic performance of Panuri in detecting pancreatic cancer, with sensitivity and specificity among its primary endpoints.
Urteste currently has 13 prototype diagnostic tests targeting breast, brain, gastric, biliary tract, ovarian, bladder, endometrial, kidney, colorectal, lung, liver, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Collectively, these cancers account for nearly 70% of all cancer-related deaths worldwide.
